At the AGM we discussed how important the summer youth tournaments are for the club. It’s a huge revenue generator for us. We agreed that an events sub-committee comprising 4-5 club members plus our friend Pete would need to be established to host/coordinate this event this year. The games would most likely be held in summer during weekdays. These are the 2 main tasks of the sub-committee:
1. Coordinating with the National representatives to set up logistical needs for hosting the tournament. This requires constant communication leading up to the tournament and for addressing issues that arise when the tournament starts.
2. Setting up fields every morning, putting items away at the end of the day, and communicating trash and porta potty needs etc. This is more of the grunt work on a day-to-day basis.
